Telex has been a secure and legally binding form of electronic telecommunication since its introduction in the 1930's

8 decades after its global appearance, Telex remains a more secure medium of electronic communication than Fax and Email and is still regarded as LEGALLY BINDING where other methods of e-communication are not

Telex is still widely used in many developing countries' bureaucracies, probably because of its reliability and low cost. The United Nations asserted at one time that more political entities were reliably available by Telex than by any other single method.

The City of london, a major global hub for trade and finance, remains hugely dependant on Telex as still being the preferred method of critical business communication for the Shipping, Finance & Insurance industries

Despite these facts British Telecom have announced this month ( March 2008 ) that they have turned off their global Telex switch

HOW CAN UK BUSINESSES STILL USE TELEX ?

Don't panic, the UK can still relaibly access the global telex network by other means
